European Vocational Skills Week 2018

Education and Culture
Date: Monday, 05 November 2018 08:00 - Friday, 09 November 2018 18:00

When is the European Vocational Skills Week (EVSW)?

European Vocational Skills Week 2018 will be taking place from the 5-9 November in Vienna. You can also get involved in and register one of our many additional events and activities taking place at national, regional, and local levels across Europe and beyond from 1 September 2018 through to the end of the year.

What is VET?

VET is one of the four education and training sectors (together with schools, higher education and adult learning). VET plays a key role in the lifelong learning continuum by providing young people with initial qualifications they need for a smooth transition to the labour market, as well as adults with the means to continuously upskills and reskill throughout their lives. VET responds to the needs of the economy but also to develop people´s skills for personal development and active citizenship.

What is the EVSW about?

VET offers people of all ages an excellent opportunity to develop their skills, prepare for jobs, and improve their employability. Through the EVSW, we want to raise awareness of the wide range of opportunities available through VET, and encourage more people to participate and learn what it has to offer.
