HyLAW EU Workshop

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Thursday, 06 December 2018 10:00 - 16:30

Venue: White Atrium, avenue de la Toison d'Or 56-60, BE-1060 Brussels  |  City: Saint-Gilles

How to reduce and eliminate unnecessary administrative and regulatory burdens in order to pave the way for commercial deployment of hydrogen technologies

Complying with legal and administrative requirements when deploying hydrogen technologies can be cumbersome and time-consuming. In response to these difficulties, the HyLAW project has analysed rules, obligations and legislative provisions covering more than 60 different administrative processes in 18 European countries.

The HyLAW EU Workshop will tackle some of the most pressing legal and regulatory barriers associated with the deployment of hydrogen technologies in the EU.

With a focus on EU level policy and legislation, the workshop will present the project’s conclusions on what causes the existence of these barriers and will propose practical solutions to overcome them.

Agenda

  • Welcome and Registration

  • Introduction: The contribution of the HyLAW project

  • Session I: Production and storage of Hydrogen – Does EU legislation create unintentional barriers?

  • Session II: Permitting of Hydrogen Refuelling Stations – Can we really expect to build a sizeable network of Hydrogen Refuelling Stations in todays’ regulatory environment?

  • Session III: Hydrogen vehicles: Focus on hydrogen and fuel cell vessels/ships

  • Session IV: Hydrogen and sectoral integration: Gas and electricity grid issues

Please note that the registrations will close on 04.12.2018 at 12:00 (CET).

THE HYLAW PROJECT HAS RECEIVED FUNDING FROM THE FUEL CELLS AND HYDROGEN 2 JOINT UNDERTAKING UNDER GRANT AGREEMENT NO 737977.
THIS JOINT UNDERTAKING RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION’S HORIZON 2020 RESEARCH AND INNOVATION PROGRAMME, HYDROGEN EUROPE AND HYDROGEN EUROPE RESEARCH.
