The EU's NDC after the Talanoa Dialogue

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Monday, 26 November 2018 14:00 - 16:30

Venue: Représentation permanente de la France auprès de l'Union européenne  |  City: Brussels

ICTSD/ERCST and EUI have jointly been working on a project which provides the opportunity for a public debate on the possibility of increasing the ambition of the EU climate policy in the 2030 perspective. As final element of this project, a policy paper is being written outlining the various options to enhance the EU NDC which were assessed using a set of criteria developed by the project team and tested through surveys with key experts and stakeholders.

We would like to invite you to the launch of this policy paper, entitled 'The EU's NDC after the Talanoa Dialogue',  on November 26 at the Permanent Representation of France to the EU in Brussels.

Six 'Open Fora' were organised in the EU Member States in the weeks leading up to COP24 are part of this project. Here, local stakeholders were given the opportunity to discuss the different options of increasing the EU NDC and the criteria to assess them. A background paper proviced input for debate, and the outputs of these Open Fora are captured in the Policy Paper.

During this event, the policy paper will be presented by the authors and commented on by key stakeholders, which will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
