High-level Conference Aviation & Artificial Intelligence

Date: Thursday, 23 May 2019

Venue: EUROCONTROL Headquarters

High level Conference Aviation Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is completely disrupting traditional ways of doing business, challenging traditional value chains and business models. With AI still at a relatively early stage of development, the aviation industry needs to understand the potential of this new technology, and how we can harness it to drive innovation across the sector.

With this in mind, on 23 May, 2019, EUROCONTROL is organising a special conference ‘Aviation and Artificial Intelligence’ in collaboration with Airbus. The aim of the event is to look at how we can collectively harness the power of AI to benefit aviation, and to assess how AI is likely to influence our industry in the years ahead.

EUROCONTROL’s Brussels headquarters

The event will be structured around two high-level panels.

  1. We will bring together senior figures at the cutting edge of AI applications, to talk about where the technology is headed and how it is being applied to drive business growth outside the aviation sector.
  2. We will look more specifically at aviation, identifying key issues for the industry including challenges such as pilotless aircraft, automated ATC, and the potential for AI to drive change in our business models.

We have an impressive line-up of speakers such as Eamonn Brennan, Director General of EUROCONTROL, Marc Fontaine, Digital Transformation Officer for Airbus, Khalil Rouhana, Deputy Director-General DG CONNECT at the European Commission, Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, Director General of DIGITALEUROPE and John Hurley, Chief Technology Officer from Ryanair.

In parallel, we will also be hosting an exhibition of some cutting-edge implementations of AI technology in the aviation-related sector.
