Getting Climate Communications Right

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Tuesday, 03 September 2019 11:00 - 14:00

Venue: Weber Shandwick, Avenue Cortenbergh 100, 1000 Brussels

We face an unprecedented climate crisis. This requires businesses and industries to challenge conventional patterns of behaviour, take steps to reduce carbon emissions and resource use as well as communicate their climate ambitions with all of their stakeholders.

Weber Shandwick's upcoming Brussels event on Tuesday 3rd September will gather leading climate policy thinkers including:

- Ursula Woordburn, Head of EU Relations, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership

- Rachel Owens, Head of EU Advocacy, Global Witness, the anti-corruption NGO

- Professor Jan Dirk Kemming, Author of 'Brands as political players'

- Jo Sullivan, Senior Sustainability Advisor, Weber Shandwick

During the panel debate, the speakers will discuss:

- Why organisations and companies should take a position on the climate crisis

- How organisations' climate positions may impact and change the nature of their relationships with policy makers

- What NGOs expect from companies in tackling the climate crisis

- What citizens and consumers can expect from brands on climate

- Why communication around climate is business critical

The event will convene a stimulating panel debate from 11am-12.30pm followed by lunch and discussions.
