?The annual Heritage Day celebrates the culture and past of Brussels. As a part of Brussels’ history and with multiculturalism and intercultural dialogue as core values, the European Parliament is proud to take part in the annual Heritage Days celebration. This year’s theme, ‘A place for art’, will see the House of European History and the Hemicycle invite visitors to take a look at how heritage and art are present in the European Parliament.

House of European History

⏰ Saturday 14 September & Sunday 15 September

Thematic tours around the exhibition and the unique art collection. Visitors will have the opportunity to see European history from a different perspective, offering a glimpse into Europeans’ experiences and emotions in previous centuries by introducing them to unique paintings and sculptures from different eras.

An entertaining workshop will also give families a chance to help build a decorative mobile that will hang at the entrance of the museum.

There is no registration for taking part in any of the activities. The tours will be at the following times:

15.00 - FR
16.00 - NL


⏰ Saturday 14 September

Special briefings on the role of culture in the European Union. You will discover how the European Union’s motto ‘United in diversity’ is put into practice in our special briefings on the art collection of the European Parliament. You will also be able to see the Hemicycle, not normally open on weekends. No registration is needed.

The briefings on Saturday 14 September will be held between 10:00-17:00, every hour in Dutch, English, French and German.
