Kashmir Council-EU and Friends of Kashmir Group of the European Parliament have a great pleasure in inviting you to participate in a two-day International Conference and Workshop on ''Educating Women for Peace and Democracy – a South Asia Perspective"

The Conference will examine the potential of different kinds of education to mobilise women to engage in the struggle for gender equality and in preparing women and girls to participate fully in the development and maintenance of democratic institutions of governance.

Speakers will include senior academics from the University of Warsaw, London and Columbia, Members of the European Parliament, civil society activists from South Asia and representatives of the European Institutions.

The programme will start with a plenary session at which a number of short papers will be presented. This will be followed by a Workshop session with participants assigned to groups. Each group will prepare a draft text in the form of a ‘Resolution’ to be submitted to the European Parliament.
