Every year, millions of tons of waste derived from many different human activities, both land and sea based, enter our seas. This marine litter, made up of different materials in varying sizes has a significant impact on the marine and coastal environment as well as on human activities around the world.

The aim of the workshop is to try to find out what the EU could do to overcome this situation and how to effectively and efficiently combat marine litter. The workshop is organised by the Policy Department A: Economic and Scientific Policy for the ENVI Committee.

Please note that while the workshop is in principle open to the public, you need to have access to the European Parliament to be able to attend. (No special registration for the workshop available).
