Bretton Woods, Brussels and Beyond: Which Institutions for The Future of Europe?

Institutional and Political Issues
Date: Friday, 01 June 2018 13:15 - 14:30

Venue: CEPS Conference room  |  City: Brussel, Belgium

CEPS is delighted to host the launch of a new CEPR-VoxEU eBook. Entitled Bretton Woods, Brussels and beyond: Which institutions for the future of Europe?, the book addresses two overarching questions. Firstly, what lessons can be drawn from the institutional framework created at Bretton Woods following World War II (and the subsequent globalisation) for the future of Europe (and for the euro area)? Secondly, is a European Monetary Fund (EMF) the answer? Would it prove to be sufficient on its own or are other institutions needed? And if so, how should these other institutions be designed?
