Town-Hall Discussion Anti-Discrimination and Equality Law in Europe Draft “Horizontal Directive”: Next Steps to Advance the Debate

A draft EU "Horizontal" anti-discrimination directive has been pending adoption since 2008.  If adopted, it would provide strengtened protection against discrimination on grounds of age, disability, religion or belief, and sexual oriantation.      The adoption of the directive would therefore mean strengthened protection against discrimination for millions of Europeans.

The townhall meeting is a chance for various sectors of the community including civil society, equality bodies, governments and European institituions to come together to discuss the way forward toward adopting the draft directive.
