Civil Society
Date: Friday, 14 September 2018 17:30 - 19:00

Venue: Contact Organizer  |  City: Brussels

Would you like to be among 100 citizens taking part in an inspiring discussion about the future of Europe and your political involvement? Would you be keen to let high-level policymakers know how you feel about your role as a citizen and your relationship with political leaders? And on whether you would want to be involved in decision making at local, national and European level?

Every year, the think tank Friends of Europe brings together a new class of European Young Leaders, aged 40 and under, who have made their mark in a wide range of fields - including politics, science, business, media, NGOs, arts and civil society - and who are heading for the topmost ranks of European leadership.

We are very excited to announce that this September, Malta will be hosting our European Young Leaders seminar – and we would like to invite you to be a part of it! This seminar will take place in the second half of a pre-election year for Europe, a key moment for European citizens to examine their understanding of the European project, assess its strengths and weaknesses and their expectations for the future of the Union, in order to shape its governance for the coming years.

One of the session is open to the public, as we want to discuss the above raised questions together with citizens. We would like to ask both our Young Leaders and Maltese citizens to discuss what practical solutions we can bring to the table to improve the direct participation of citizens in European democracies and at EU level. Our goal is to identify key recommendations that will be shared with EU decision makers in the lead up to the 2019 European elections.

Register for the event here.

Engage with the European Young Leaders Programme on Twitter and Facebook for more news on the young leaders and alumni.

Please note that the session will be held in English.  #EUevents
