The Directorate-General for Environment is launching a new tool for peer-to-peer exchanges among national, regional and local authorities in Member States, called TAIEX-EIR PEER 2 PEER. The tool is based on the existing TAIEX instrument, already in use by the Directorate-General European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations. It is aimed at helping Member States to improve their implementation of EU-based environmental policy and law, including tackling (administrative) root causes, inspired by the implementation challenges indicated in the Environmental Implementation Review (EIR).
