6th International Conference on Ethanol from Lignocellulosics

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Wednesday, 27 September 2017

Venue: Contact organisers for location details  |  City: Brussels, Belgium

This event aims to engage policymakers, industry decision-makers and stakeholders in an informed discussion on strategies to accelerate the deployment of advanced biofuels in general and lignocellulosic ethanol in particular in the EU and global markets. Ensuring investments in these state of the art technologies is critical and strongly depends on the legislation in force. Legislation that is stable in the long term and supportive national policies, as well as new and innovative financial instruments, are needed to create an attractive and reliable environment for investors to supply the billion euros needed for the construction of the new generation of technologies and plants.

The conference will consist mainly of panel discussions where speakers will focus on practical experience and lessons learned from their initial investments; the event will allow ample time for debate. It will start with a workshop on sourcing large quantities of sustainable biomass to provide feedstock for facilities.

The event is organised in partnership with key industrial sponsors and is funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union.
