Gazprom and Nord Stream: The spies who came in with the heat

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Monday, 04 December 2017 16:30 - 18:00

Venue: European Parliament, Altiero Spinelli building (ASP), room A1H1 (1st floor)  |  City: Ixelles, Belgium

The Danish journalist Jens Høvsgaard is the author of the revealing book THE SPIES WHO CAME IN WITH THE HEAT. In this book he documents how the Kremlin and Gazprom, with Putin and a number of former Stasi and KGB agents at the forefront, bribed and blackmailed politicians as high-up as the prime ministerial level in Western Europe, when permission for the first part of the controversial gas pipeline at the bottom of the Baltic Sea needed to be secured in 2010.
