Presentation of the new civil society space report

Home affairs, Migration and Integration
Date: Thursday, 18 January 2018

Venue: Contact organisers for location details  |  City: Brussels, Belgium

The Agency will release its report on ‘Challenges facing civil society organisations working on human rights in the EU’ on 18 January 2018.

The report will then be presented at an event in Brussels at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on 19 January. Registration for the event is open until 16 January. The report looks at the challenges that civil society organisations are facing in the EU in four categories - regulatory environment, finance and funding, participation, and safe space. FRA cooperates and regularly consults with civil society organisations. They increasingly report that it has become harder for them to support the protection, promotion and fulfilment of human rights within the EU due to both legal and practical restrictions.
