Refugees in Europe: Education as a Path to Inclusion

Education International, in cooperation with ETUCE, is pleased to invite you to an event hosted by the European Union Economic and Social Committee on the theme of refugee education.

“Refugees in Europe: Education as a Path to Inclusion”

The event will provide the opportunity to hear about the initiatives on refugee education implemented by education unions in the field of research, professional development and political advocacy. A major piece of EI research, outlining key recommendations for stakeholders at decision making level will also be presented.

Speakers will include the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria, Mrs Denitsa Sacheva.

The event will be held in English only and no interpretation will be provided.

Access to the EESC building is restricted to the participants who have registered in advance and have provided their ID/passport details in advance. The document used for registration will need to be shown on the day of the meeting.

The event at the EU is being held immediately after the ETUCE Standing Committee for Equality organized from 19 to 20 February 2018 (ending at lunch time). Participation in the European hearing (travel and accommodation) is self-financed. However, EI has a limited budget to grant financial support. All assistance requests received prior 31 January will be screened case by case.

All participants should register online before 15 February. Applications for assistance should be submitted prior 31 January.
