The Rise of Electric Vehicles and the extra demand for power. How could Europe be best prepared?

Transport
Date: Wednesday, 11 April 2018 15:00 - 17:30

Venue: European Parliament - JAN 4Q1  |  City: Ixelles, Belgium

This event will address the key issues that EU legislators have to be aware of in order to facilitate a full transition to electric vehicles in a sustainable manner, in a scenario where the main European car manufactures foresee that all new models would be electric or hybrid from 2019. The rise of electric vehicles is a valid indicator of the systemic change in the European energy market and such an early warning should be taken seriously. How is Europe planning to deal with the electricity demand when electric vehicles account for 50% of European road transport? Is there enough clean electricity? What sort of roadmap do the member states foresee to implement in order to carry on the necessary infrastructural changes? These are some of the questions that we will address in this seminar.

Interpretation will be provided in English and French.
